New Invention Idea For Floating Garden

Schools in Rome, NY are being forced to make cuts across the board. But programs like the Neighborhood After School Science Association (NASSA) can produce some amazing results, like an award winning new invention idea from a 7th grade student. Lillith Bulawa was nationally recognized as one of the top ten semi-finalists in the Fifth Annual Bubble Wrap Competition for Young Inventors.

The competition encourages children to use their creativity and Bubble Wrap to make an original and functional invention. Lillith impressed judges with her idea which could actually save lives. Her "Floating Tower of Bubble-On" in a garden that floats on top of water with the aid of Bubble Wrap. This self-watering garden that sits in a box atop a raft of Bubble Wrap is designed to help save crops in flood zones.
